Our handyman was working on our house and as he was leaving he rolled his heavy duty dolly across the kitchen floor. My house is all wood and 3-4 feet off the ground so it made this low rumbling vibration. It nearly scared the crap out of me.
I was a half a second from running to the doorway when I realized what he was doing. He looked and me and knew the sound exactly. He said "Earthquake?"
Yeah you big jerk! Earthquake.
My heart is still racing. There is nothing - I repeat - nothing like that sound and low rumble when an Earthquake starts (except apparently a dolly rolling across the high wood floor of an old house...)
Re: It's the sound of an Earthquake that gets me...
