I had some issues with racing heartbeat and fainting spells so my Dr. ordered me to wear a Holter (spelling?) monitor for 24 hours and it turned out to be nothing to worry about, just another uncomfortable pregnancy thing. I would rather them be safe than sorry though, you want to make sure everything is ok.
Ya I had an EKG, an echocardiogram, and was hooked up to a 24 hour heart monitor bc of heart palpitations. They were trying to rule out pregnancy induced supraventricular tachycardia. Which I ended up not having. Mine was just random heart palps I still get them sometimes, but not as bad. If it is SVT they will put you on meds for the rest of the pregnancy to regulate your heartrate.

I've have many EKG's, a holter monitor and a few Echo cardiograms because of Heart Palpitations. They were all done before I was pregnant and all came out fine. The cardiologist and my Dr. suspect that they are caused from hormones because I would get them during certain times of the month.
