I have a licensed in home daycare and I love it! With the economy the way it is I have been worried cause a few of my parents have lost their jobs. They are still paying for child care just to keep their spots. I want to make sure I give them the best care possible so I just wanted to see what you all love about your child care centers or in home centers? Any ideas would be great, thanks so much!!
Re: What do you love about your daycare?
Special things that pop out in my head:
one thing our private lady did for me that I LOVED - for mother's day, she made a canvas of DD's handprints and they decorated it and framed it.
Our center - once a month or so, they will mail me a picture DD painted or drew to MY WORK! It is AWESOME to go check the mail at work and open a picture my DD made. It's a nice surprise for me and makes my day.
I love how much they seem to like DS. He gives his "teachers" a hug now when he leaves school, and they always have cute stories to tell about what he did during the day.
My BF watches DS during the day, and she makes my life easier not having to bring a bag for DS every day. Once a month I bring formula, diapers, and clothes. If she runs low she lets me know. Plus she sends me pictures.
Awesome idea!!! I would love if my DC did this. Excellent!!
1. Treat my LO as if he were your own.
2. Be very patient with new parents. Be understanding of their concerns and encourage them. The teachers in my DC are so nice to me and DH.
3. Photos would be great.
4. Email newsletter a few times per year would be great.
5. Father's Day - my DC sent a poem on cardstock with DS's foot prints on it. They also had hot dogs for dads that afternoon.
6. DS has only been there a week and the receptionists know his name.
They light up when we drop off DS. After our vacation I was there and kept hearing 'YEAH! Nolan's back!'
All of the kids are happy and well loved. One little girl is having serious health issues and the teachers are ON IT! The one had a PT background so she's been working with her during the day.
Birthdays are celebrated and extra cupcakes/balloons sent home with parents.
I would love more footprint artwork and Iove the idea of sending some to the parent's work. What a great idea!
