I use to smoke. I was more of social, stressed, bored smoker. I rarely smoked when I was at work. I didnt like to smell all day long. I haven't had a cigarette in years and when I'm around my parents who smoke I never feel the urge to have one. But for some reason the other day I thought the idea of one sounded good. I think it was the person smoking ...they made it look good.
Also known as *BreeBree13* Stupid bump keeps logging me in under my old name!
DH and I have never smoked at all; never even tried it. Growing up, my parents smoked (my mom stopped during pregnancies) and my dad's battle to quit was really hard. I'm really sensitive to the smell and it gives me headaches, so I would give him a lot of crap b/c I could notice it the most. He smoked 2.5 packs/day for 25+ years. He finally truly quit about 2-3 years ago. I think it's because he smoked that I never wanted to. But on the other hand, my sister used to have a cigarette socially (aka when drinking), and my brother is a full-time smoker. So, who knows?

I answered that neither of us smoke. ?But DH occasionally smokes when he's out drinking. ?He was a heavy smoker on and off for years, but cut WAY back when we met. ?Now it's really rare.
I've tried a few cigarettes in my life, but it never took.?
You don't understand the appeal of Benedict Cumberbatch / think he's fug / don't know who he is? WATCH SHERLOCK. Until you do, your negative opinion of him will not be taken seriously.
My dad is a chain smoker, and it's really gross what it does to his property and his clothes... not to mention what it could've done to me as a baby... so I never wanted to smoke. But I think b/c I was around it so much as a kid, whenever I went to his place (on his visitation days, after my parents divorced), I came to almost like the smell of the tobacco. Since college, I'll maybe have 1 or 2 when I go out (and now DH does, too - I kind of involved him ), but that's just about it. I never let myself have more, b/c I can see how easy it would be to get hooked. I actually kind of miss doing it, even only occasionally, while I'm pg. There's a pack in our glove compartment I look at longingly from time to time...
My H quit smoking June 25th, 2008, so it's almost been a whole year. Woo!!
I have never smoked, besides maybe a drag or two when out drinking with friends. For anyone thinking about quitting: H went to his doctor and got the Chantex (sp?) pills. He took them for two weeks and quit and then continued taking them for another week. He hasn't had a cigarette since.
