I saw your post on the weekly update about a photography class.  Can you tell me about it?  Is it through a tech school or somewhere else?  Do you have to have a really fancy camera?

I have been wanting to take class for awhile, but never had time.  Now that I've been out of school for two years there is time.  I just want to learn some basics.

I am taking it through a local museum who offers art classes.  I have a Nikon DSLR but you don't need a fancy camera in this class. There are also a lot of classmates that have a digital point and shoot camera. As long as it is digital it does not matter.

It is a 5 week course and goes over the basics. The tech schools were too expensive and I basically just wanted a refresher. Check your local art museums or local photographers that are well known. Some of them offer classes in their spare time.

Thanks for the info.  I never thought of asking at a museum or local photographer.  I have a kodak 12 zoom 8 mp.  I got it in November to upgrade from our first digital camera.  I think there are special lenses you can buy to attach.

I did a search online and just googled for local photography classes. GL, I hope you find one. It has been a real treat, I am really enjoying it.
