Hopefully this makes sense...my best friends cousin's name is Dalton. He's 10 now, and I had never heard the name until he was born. It fits him perfectly, and now I really like the name.
I think it's fine. FYI it is a unit of measure (molecular mass), so the first thing I think of is that. If your kid ends up being a scientist it will be either a super cool or super nerdy name. I'm a scientist so I think it's cool
I knew a Dalton growing up and all the girls thought he was pretty good looking. Not that that helps you name your child. I dont personally care for it because it sounds a little southern. But, it is unique, without trying too hard, and if you like it I would say go for it!
