what should i use to write on clothes?

a friend of mine loaned me a BUNCH of baby clothes and i told her i would write her initials on the tags....do i use a sharpie? or will that run in the wash?

i'm so excited to be able to borrow so many clothes!! yay!!!

Ditto MrsRosie. ?I used sharpie for all of my borrowed maternity clothes.

Many clothes these days are "tagless", you may have to make a list of those.
