Pocket inserts?

DD has been in KLOs from the start, but I feel like she's on the verge of outgrowing them.  I have a pretty good stash of one-size pockets (BG, HH, and Blueberrys) that I am startin gto prep. For some reason I can't figure out which insert to use with the BGs. The regular insert seems so bulky, but the newborn insert doesn't seem like it will absorb much. What would you/have you used for a 2 month old? If you did use the regular insert, did you snap it down to the second snap? And do you put the folded portion in the back for a girl?

Sorry! This all seemed so straight forward when I bought them, but now I'm all confused! TIA!!!

Re: Pocket inserts?

  • The newborn insert was enough with DS until 7 months. Hes a heavy wetter too.

  • I used the NB insert for a month or two at least.  DS has a crazy high rise and chunky thighs so I had to open up the rise snaps early on which meant  I needed to switch to the longer insert.

  • Our babies were born on the same day! We outgrew our KL0's a few weeks ago and transitioned into our one-size fitteds and BG 3.0's. Our son must be a heavy wetter because we immediately went to the regular insert and it is drenched when we change him every 2-3 hours. We snap it all the way down to fit into the smallest BG setting. Since he's a boy I double up in the front, but for a girl I would guess you just put it in the opposite way.?
  • We snapped down from the start with DD.  It was bulky in the back but she didn't seem to mind.

  • Thanks ladies! I think I'll try the newborn insert and just go from there.
