Traveling and CD Wash

I saw that with coin operated you guys suggest wiping it out first. We will be traveling for over a week and will be splitting our time between friends' houses and a hotel. Has anyone ever hugely offended a friend when they did this to their washing machine??

Should I take my own detergent or will the fact that I'm using their washing machine negate my best efforts anyway? ?

    You could ask your friends in advance. We went to visit friends who I know is really icked out by CDs. I used some sposies to start out the weekend and then CDed the rest of the weekend and washed when I got home.

    I don't bother wiping out anyone's machine and do bring my own detergent and use vinegar for sure in the rinse cycle.  It will ehlp remove any residue that may be in the machine/diapers.
