TLC's Twins- A surprise!

Did any of you ladies watch this show?

I understand that a lot of the women on this show didn't know they were having twins because they had little medical intervention (midwives or own home births), but come on!  It just seems insane that they had 2 healthy babies without any doctors!

 

Sigh... seems unfair.

i only saw the first story and then DH wanted to change the channel.  we had that once at the birth center.  i was not there, but the story is famous at the center.  it was just like the first one on the show.  the mom delivered the baby and then the first thing you do after that is put your hands on her ute to make sure that it is clamping down and then you get ready for the placenta.  well when she put her hand there she felt a kick and surprise there was another baby. 

midwives are not supposed to deliver twins anywhere but a hospital, so it was a rare experience for her.  oh and the mom was quite shocked too.  they suspected that she knew and just didn't tell anyone because she did not want to birth in the hsp.

Oh my goodness!  Just the shock of having two when expecting one would do a number on us!

I saw some of the show. Did you see the lady who had the birth at home in the bath tub with just her and DH !?!?

OH my gosh, yes! And he said he was NOT into the idea of having a home birth AT ALL. Plus neither of them had taken any home birthing classes!

And the update on the kids (they're great - yay!) and she's expecting ANOTHER one.

Sigh...
