I'm about 3 weeks pregnant. We haven't told anyone yet because we're waiting for our first checkup to know everything is healthy with the baby. I'm experiencing steady bleeding for nearly a week now... I've googled around and checked posts - many say that light bleeding is normal, but this seems too heavy. My first appointment is not until next week... IS THIS SOMETHING TO BE NERVOUS ABOUT? I'm fearing the worst.......

call your doctor - I'd even call the oncall doctor today. Do you mean you're around 5wks, cause if you're only 3 wks I'd be surprised you got a positive HPT.

I'm a bit confused...steady bleeing for a week and you haven't called your doctor yet?  And you are three weeks pg?  When did you get a positive test because the bleeding that you are describing along with the timeline sounds like you have your period right now and maybe you had a chemical pregnancy?  I would take another test and call the dr.

I took a pregnancy test 2 weeks ago and when they both came back positive I made an appt to get a blood test done at my doctor - she called me and said I was about 2 weeks pregnant ... so this would be my third week. They also told me at that time that light bleeding was not uncommon in the beginning of a pregnancy - this was a surprise blessing to us - we werent trying yet, so I feel so unprepared!

You are actually 5 weeks pregnant. 2 weeks pregnant means you just ovulated.

Hopeful news from my doc...

I talked with my doctor today and she said because my pregnancy was detected so early (i'm still only 3 weeks!) that it is probably "implantation bleeding" and that light bleeding for a few days straight or on and off does happen in some women ... keeping my fingers crossed... thanks for your support and your advice!
