i suck at washing my CD's!!!

ok i'm just into my second month of CD'ing and i totally cannot get the hang of washing.  the poop diapers always have stains.  and sunning them works fine but what am i doing wrong that i ALWAYS have to sun the stains out??  i don't notice any stink so it's not too big of a deal as long as they are clean, but i'm just curious why this happens... here is how i wash:

 i do cold cycle with no soap.  (can i just do a cold soak instead of a short wash cycle?)

then a hot/cold cycle using Country Save detergent, usually half a scoop.  then i dry most in the dryer and hang covers up.

should i try more soap? and then add a second rinse???

I do a soak instead of a full cycle, then I do a full wash on hot with 2 cold rinses... I've never had any stains.  I also use Country Save, but I use less than 1/4 scoop for around 11-12 diapers.

ETA: I also rinse off poops as soon as I'm done tending to baby... then I leave the diaper semi-wet and put it in the pail.  So I guess in a way it's still soaking until I wash.

To the OP, what kind of diapers do you use?

I often get stains too, but either sun them out or just deal with them.  As long as the diapers are santized, stains don't bother me all that much.

This.  My dipes get clean but stains come and go.  It really doesn't bother me.

I've also noticed that natural vs. synthetic fibers on the inside of the diaper makes a difference w/stains. ?The poop stains seem to wash out of synthetic fibers (like the BG suede cloth or fleecy Fuzzi Bunz), but natural fiber inners (like the cotton on the BG AIO organic, or OBV on my drybees or green acres) tend to hold stains and I need to sun them.

yeah i've been still using them, it doesnt really bother me all that much, i just wondered if there was something to do differently.  i have a few of many different diapers and all hold the poop stains -- unbleached indian prefolds, BG 3.0s, BG AIO's, FB, and even my flats.  so that's why i thought it was something i was doing...  thanks!

Is your water actually hot?  Sometime depending on your hot water heater settings, you may not really be washing in hot water.  I'd add a little more detergent and make the water hotter.
