Roseola, if your kid had it, what was it like?

I think Angie has it.

Re: Roseola, if your kid had it, what was it like?

  • dd had a fever with no other symptoms for about 3 days.  it spiked up to 102.5.  not as high as other's i've seen with roseola.  totally went down with tylenol. and after the fever finally broke she got little red dots all over her chest, tummy and back, and a few on her face.  it didn't bother her at all.  there's nothing you can do for it.  but we brought her into the pedi anyway so he could give us the definite diagnosis and make sure it's in her chart that she had it.
  • My BF son just had it, fever for 2-3 days came down a little w/tylenol. His fever was 103.7 at one point, no oter symptoms, rash a few days later

  • He spiked a fever for no good reason (no other symptoms) that was around 102.6 for a few days. We gave him Tylenol to break the fever. The first day I took him to the pedi. because I was concerned of a fever with no other symptoms. Doctor said she suspected roseola because of unexplained fever and we'd know in a few days if he developed a rash/red dots. Well, sure enough, about three days later, the fever went away and he was left with red dots on his face/back/chest, so the doctor confirmed roseola.

  • My older son had it less than 2 weeks ago.  One day he suddenly spiked a fever of 102.  It got up to 104 and Tylenol wouldn't help it.  He got really lethargic and started having febrile spasms.  We took him to the ER and they evaluated and gave him motrin for the fever.  His fever lasted for 2 more days around 102.  Then, just as the fever broke he got a rash on his trunk - for the next two days it spread up his neck and arms.  Then he woke up the next day and it was gone.
