Sweet Potato Puffs

DS tried a new flavor of puffs last night, sweet potato, and he loved them! Though his pincher grasp is really good and he puts everything in his mouth, he hasn't figured out yet that he can pick the puffs up and put them in his mouth. He just smushes them in his fingers. So, I break them apart and put them in his mouth and he gobbles them up, and then opens his mouth like a little birdy for more. He's great with purees but has shown no interest in finger foods so far, so I was happy to find something that he finally likes in the finger food department, now if he can just figure out how to feed himself. I know it'll take time, we just recently started trying to introduce finger foods and I know its something totally new and different to him.

Re: Sweet Potato Puffs

  • lol, that is exactly how i described it too when we started cheerio/puffy things.  he'd open his little mouth up just like birdy.  The progression was really fast from that to him open hand smashing them so they stuck to his hand and he'd suck them off to delicately picking one up and getting them in his mouth.  Welcome to the world of finger foods.
  • s/o Sweet Potato Puffs, DH was looking at the container, and noticed a striking, um, resemblance of the sweet potato to a certain part of a man's anatomy.
