When I had long hair (which I loved but had NO skills with) and needed an updo, I would just go to a salon and pay 20 bucks for an updo because it came with professional hair-spray hold. Nothing I did ever stayed. Is that an option? I was always much more open to going to whatever salon would take me because nobody was cutting or coloring... nobody with a license can permanently screw up my hair with an updo!

I wish. I don't have enough time -- we have to travel a ways for the wedding so we are leaving in a couple hours. Good idea though -- wish I would have planned ahead to do that!
French twist with the ends curled and coming out of the top. You can bobby pin the long pieces in place. I have since cut my hair but used that as my fall back style for many weddings when my hair was super long. It looks nice and if it gets a little messy while you are dancing around it's hard to tell because the curls just kind of bounce around.

Re: NBR: Hair Help for a Wedding Tonight
Are you looking for an all up do or part up do?
When I had really long hair, I would pull the sides/front up and attach with an elasitc and then wrap some hair around it. I would just curl the rest.
Sort of like....
