Broken Toe....

I have heard they dont do anything for a broken toe, but I have also heard they put you in a boot. Does anyone know? I dont want to spend money to go to the doctor for her to say yep its broken and thats it. (its completely purple and hurts to put pressure on my foot)

My SIL and neice have have each recently (in the past year) broken a toe. They didn't do anything for them but tell them to stay off of it and ice it for swelling. My neice just broke her toe and luckliy it is summer and she doesn't have to squeeze a shoe on her foot.

Can you call the doc office and just ask them what they recommend? That way you don't have to put out the $.

  • all we do in the ER for a broken toe is buddy tape it to the adjacent toe and give the patient a hard sole shoe to wear.  both measures are for your comfort.  don't forget the ice!!
