Ok, so I know ya'll told me to lurk before I ask questions...but I am in the middle of homework, and I cant stop wondering...so I am going ahead and asking.
What happens when you are charting your BBT & you just automatically jump out of bed? And better yet - what if you jump out of bed and then all together forget to take your temp until you remember later? Too late, right? Have you ever jumped out of bed to turn your alarm off or something, and then lay back down and check your temp??

Re: Forgot to BBT??
I've read that light movement shouldn't have a substantial effect on your BBT- turning off an alarm, going to the bathroom etc... but if you've gotten up, brushed your teeth & taken a load of laundry downstairs I'd say you're out of luck for that day. Depending on the situation, I'd either make a note of it in my chart, or just skip the day all together.
The longer you chart though, the easier it becomes to remember- I'm about to the point now where I don't even need an alarm, most of the time I wake up naturally about 3 minutes before it goes off for testing. Good Luck!
For some people it has a very substantial effect. Others not so much. The only way to see which end you fall on is the take it before getting up, then check it again periodically to see what does make it change. I can be up for a couple hours and as long as nothing has gone in my mouth, my temp will be the same. Anything beyond shutting off the alarm and going pee I generally disregard though. At that point I just write off the day.
This. I have done this because I was curious what would happen to my temp and it hardly changes AT ALL. I do not do this on a regular basis because I think about temping as soon as I wake up, but the only way to really know is to do what kdodge has suggested and experiment on yourself. GL!
