If lochia is produced because of the separation of the placenta from the uterine wall, then do multiple moms who had two placentas going on have twice as much bleeding as singleton moms? ?
Yes, this is possible. Also be cause your uterus is that much bigger. When it contracts to shrink back down it pushes out the blood so you may bleed longer.
yes- and you have a greater chance of hemmoraging after - just b/c there are so many more open blood vessles (but this is not common- just a greater chance i was told by the nurse yesterday).
If you have a c/s, however, they do a great job of scooping everything out (which they can't do so well with vaginal)... so you might actually bleed a lot less.
I have been bleeding MUCH less so far than I was at this point after my singleton vaginal delivery. It's really a light to moderate flow.... with my first i was soaking pads every hour.... now i only need a few pads a day.
I don't know about others, but here's my how mine went after my c-section: Extremely heavy bleeding for the first week or so, then medium bleeding for another week, light bleeding for another 2 weeks, then spotting for another week or so. I ran this by my OB when I went to my 6 week pp checkup, and she said it was pretty normal.
After 20 months TTC with PCOS, we were blessed with twins!
They arrived at 36 weeks after PTL and bedrest for 14 weeks.
