We are looking into giving Lili hemp milk. It has 46% of your daily calcium and 43% of phosphorus in just an eight ounce glass and is fortified with vitamins D2, B12 and riboflavin, as well as many others.
As for soy, I wouldn't give it to a child, but that is just me. I've heard about it screwing with thyroids and all that. A friend of mine who is vegan particularly likes the brand Eden Soy (the enriched kind), though, because of it's superiority in nutritional value, lack of harmful additives, and its flavor.
ETA: And no, we are not doing this for allergy reasons.
Kelbrian, why are you looking into hemp milk? And what about cheese, yogurt, etc?
She doesn't particularly like cow's milk. Loves yogurt and cheese, though, so we will continue on with those. I am trying to wean her, and hemp milk has a much better taste than cow's milk, so I'm hoping that hemp milk will help.
