What is the A&A thing you were just talking about dingdong?
HLA B27 is a gene linked to certain autoimmune/inflammatory disorders. I am positive for it. I've had inflammatory issues and need to see another rheumatologist myself - my first one was rude and didn't listen to my issues.
Could they mean ANA? I have a positive ANA and it can mean autoimmune problems such as lupus, however it can also mean nothing. I am supposed to see a rheumatologist yearly to follow it but after the first few years I stopped.
whatever the heck it is, I hope you're ok, I hope it's easily treated, and I hope they find out specifically so that the previous two things can happen faster.
I have ANA (anti-nuclear antibodies) too...but no other symptoms
the weird thing I learned about lupus is there is no +/- way to diagnose. They look at all the variables and make a determination from there. rhumetology is very confusing.
I hope you get things figured out and feel better soon!

Having a positive ANA is a really non-specific thing. it's generally a sign of some sort of auto-immune process. but it can also mean absolutely nothing.
What happens now is they will test you for antibodies to several specific diseases. The first time I went through this, everything was normal, despite the positive ANA. (When the ANA came back strongly positive again the next year, the rheumatologist told me to "stop taking the test."
However, full disclosure, having a positive ANA (it also depends how high it was) can be a signal that you will develop an auto immune disease down the road. That, unfortunately, turned out to be true for me.
And I don't know if you're done having kids, but I was made to take baby aspirin throughout my first pregnancy because my ANA was positive.

This is not a language I speak.

I have no clue. I've just been having issues and this is what they tell me. I told them something was wrong with me and just not in my head.
And... I googled. Stupid.stupid.stupid.
Kitty- you have a pm.
marchbaby- lol, it could have been ANA. I heard A&A. My doctor was leaning toward Lupus with my symptoms.
