2nd Trimester

Super active baby...

The OB keeps commenting on how busy and active this LO is.  HOLY COW it's absolutely insane, I'm trying to figure out what the heck she's doing in there.  She kicks the doppler thing each and every time and she is just non stop.

It's funny to me, because DS was NEVER this active.  Not even close!  I'm having a hard time sleeping at night because she just won't quit.  She's having a dance party in there, I swear.  Sometimes she's moving so much it actually makes me feel kind of nauseated.

Anyone else have a super active baby around 20 weeks or so?  I never expected to be feeling her move this much this soon.  I'm scared for what this will feel like at 35 weeks.  LOL.

Re: Super active baby...

  • Yes.  Two different Dr.'s have both mentioned, "Well you have a pretty active baby in there"  Right now she's dancing around like a mini Travolta  lol.  Baby's also a Bob Seger fan, just like her momma.

  • Yes!  I've been feeling mine dance for a month now and have been able to feel the kicks from the outside for 3 weeks!  This baby is constantly in motion, I swear!
  • I don't think mine got "super active" until about 4 weeks ago when she decided she would to try to kick her way out of me! At first I was alarmed at how forceful she was/is, but now I'm getting used to it. She totally has her own personality!!

  • My baby has been really active the last 2 days. Constantly kicking, stretching, wiggling. It's almost non-stop. I love it! It makes me laugh sometimes, and I randomly call my DH at work to tell him when it's moving. He gets about 20 calls a day =]
  • My LO wouldn't let me sleep at all last night. She's going crazy in there. I feel ya on the nausea as well... I just wanted her to stop... and nothing works. I hope this isn't a sign of her sleep patterns. Sleeping through the day awake at night! Oh no!

LOL I wonder if it's a girl thing?  It wouldn't surprise me!

Though I'm not worried about her being so crazy when she's born, because DS was the opposite.  So laid back in utero, but now he's just insanely active and has been since birth.

  • Wait a sec, all of you are having girls so far?  Hmmm, wonder if my active one is a girl too- we'll see next week.
  • Yes, the U/S techs and my doc have commented on how active our son is. Being that I'm having a very symptom free pg, I find this movement very comforting.  He won't sit still long enough to find his hb on the doppler and he was bouncing around so bad at our 12 week scan it took forever to get the NT measurement.  I just started feeling his movement regularly this week and it is regular.  I was sitting at my desk at work with my belly just barely touching my keyboard tray the other day, when I felt this poke, poke, poke...having just started feeling movement, I thought what the hell is that...then oh that's the baby.  I am a bit worried about how it's going to feel if he keeps up these gymnastics all the way thru the pg.  I'm sure I'll have a foot kicking my ribs and my cervix will become a punching bag at some point!  Not really looking forward to that.

  • I am having a girl.. and she is NON stop!
  • Me too.  My OB hasn't commented on it but the u/s techs have.  She is definately more active than my DS was at any point.  I feel like there is a constant party in my ute.
  • Boy..and he is very active..He kept kicking I felt him moving all around the other day when the dr was trying to find his heartbeat..She kept saying he sure is active..LOL..But glad he is healthy..That is why they had to do a second u/s so they could get the rest of the measurments he was moving so much..lol

  • She definitely moves around a lot!  At the beginning between her moving so much and me having an anterior placenta it made it hard for the doctor to find her heartbeat sometimes.  Each time I have had an ultrasound she is moving around like crazy.

Even with all this movement, DH has yet to feel her.  It is driving him crazy!

  • We don't even know what we're having yet, but I've been commenting on this lately to DH.  LO seems to be just stretching and flailing a lot.  Even from our first two MW appointments the MW couldn't find his/her hb because it was moving around too much (which resulted in extra u/s's for us...yay!).  I just felt LO wake up and stretch and it was like ugh...here we go lol...  =)
  • I heard girls are more active than boys...
  • I didn't feel it as much around 20 weeks, although he was kicking the doppler like crazy. I feel him ALL the time now though.
