Need opinions on bedding/accessories

So, I found the cutest lampshade today at IKEA, and went ahead and got it, because I am a nerd, and have my hopes up that we're having a girl and I think this would be cute in a girl's room. I have the receipt, so if I find out at the u/s that it's a boy, I can return it. So, anyways, I had picked out two bedding sets that I really liked, but can't decide if the lampshade really goes with either, or if I should start hunting down some fabric that would match and make my own bedding (which would probably be more cost effective anyways, but I digress!)

Here's the shade: ALFHILD F?GEL Shade

Here's bedding collection #1: Tadpoles Geisha Floral 4 Piece Crib Bedding Set - Sleeping Partners - Babies"R"Us

And #2: Garden Delight Bedding by Nojo - Baby Crib Bedding - 5456094

Thoughts???

  • I really like #1. ?Where's it from?

  • From the photos, it looks like #1 goes with the lampshade pretty well, but I'm all for the cost-effective home made variety as well.

Super cute lampshade!  If you don't have a girl, you could always re do your master or a guest room around that shade because it's really pretty!

BRU, of all places. I think it's only available for order online though.

No guest room, unfortunately, we have a 3 BR house, so the baby's room is our former guest room. And DH balks at florals in our bedroom, so no hope for the master either. Sad

  • The lamp is really cute.

Bedding for baby was a waste of money though. You can't use the quilt, and the bumper isn't in there very long either.

It might be more cost effective to pick out sheets and a dust ruffle and curtains that coordinate with the lamp, then use artwork or a rug to tie in a theme.

  • That's really cute!!  And I think #1 goes perfectly.

Oh, I totally know this... but it doesn't stop me from thinking it's a cute set. I really like set #1 anyways, because it doesn't have one of those traditional thick comforters- it's more like a quilt and has a soft, velvety backing, so I figure it can be used for tummy time or as a blankie for when LO gets older. I was thinking along the lines of just hunting down individual pieces too- that's where my idea of making some of my own stuff came in.

  • I like #2 better, but they are both cute

I don't know why, but, that lamp made me think of this set (from JCPenney). I liked it a lot until we decided to skip bedding sets this time. I think it's a cute little lamp shade- I almost picked it up for our nursery- and still might go back. ;)

That's cute too... you realize you're not helping in this narrowing down process, right? Wink

  • I love the lampshade! Bedding set #1 is my favorite.

Ha! Now you better have a girl in there, after all this strife over bedding. ;)

I had no idea how fun nurseries would be the second time around- I thought I'd be over them after the first! Nope.

I know- I had no troubles picking out DS's though, b/c I knew exactly what I wanted. I actually like the boy bedding more than the girly stuff, believe it or not!

I know I'm a total dork for even thinking about all this until the big u/s, but, a girl can dream, can't she? lol

  • Cute lampshade!!

I've seen bedspread #1 and really liked it, except for the bedskirt... is it tulle? The pattern on the quilt/bumper are super cute.

  • I really like 1 and it goes well with the lamp shade!
