I thought I remember someone who suspected their DC had an EI, took them in and their ears looked fine. Then, not more than a day or two later, they took them BACK in only to find that they DO have an EI.
I thought this happened more than once to this person.
I took DD2 to the doc yesterday (she had two back-to-back EI's in the past month) and her ears were fine. I'm not convinced she won't develop or hasn't developed one because of symptoms she's had today.
Anyone? Or has anyone here had that happen? A clean exam and a couple days later an EI?
DD1 had tubes--I was hoping we could avoid that with #2.
Re: Was this a nestie? (re: ear infections)
Happened to DD too.
Monday: ears are fine
Wed: ears are ok
Friday: both ears are extremely infected and my rupture
Needless to say, I was not extremely happy
She has her 9 month well check next Friday. I'd feel silly if I had her in to the doc three times in 1.5 weeks. BUT, I just have this nagging feeling...
(She has a clogged tear duct and like her sister, her telling symptom is a goopy eye. I cleaned her eye during her bath tonight and not more than 10 minutes after her bath she had a TON of goop in the corner of her eye. Neither one gets a fever with their EI--just goopy eye and clingy/cranky.)
