Re: s/o judging other moms, have you ever said anything

  • Yes. ?When a dad left his baby in the back seat of his car last summer when I pregnant. ?I stood by the car with my cellphone in hand about to call the police... when he finally came out. ?I told him he was lucky... and I hope he would never do anything like that again. ?He looked at me like I was crazy and I left.?

  • I said something to IL's about giving their grandbaby (SIL's baby) diet coke at nine months. I was livid. And I judged, yes! It was an entire bottle full. I still get furious when I think about this.

  • No, but I told a lady in cicis if she laid another had on her child I would call the police, but it was justified and atleast the poor child was not abused anymore while I was there. She threw him into the booth and hit him numerous times. Spanking does not bother me (sorry punk) but this was WAY over the top.

  • I tend to say things.  Then again, I also tell people if they are using the exercise equipment at the gym wrong.  Damn, I am annoying.
  • Yes, I judge my SIL all the time and I let her know it. She is a horrible mother yet thinks she is wonderful.

  • Many years ago I told my Aunt that her son would not need all of the medications that he was on if she just treated him like he was something other than a piece of dirt. She yelled at me for comforting him after she just went apeshit on him and he was only 5 or 6 at the time. The poor guy was crying so hard and I could not just sit there and not do something for him.
  • I have!  Several times

1-- at a local splash park, big brother X was holding his 8mth oldish sisters face in the water so she was struggling and clearly unable to take a breath.  Dad wasn't at all phased by this.  I stepped in and said something to the big brother about how he needs to be careful with babies and not to do that to his sister anymore b/c it's not nice... blah blah blah. That kid watched me like a hawk the rest of the time he was there and stopped trying to sufficate his sister.

2-- At the zoo a mom was not watching her kid near the water and her son was teetering on a rock on the other side of the fence.  I said, "hey lady.  It looks like your son is about to fall in the water".  She turns around from her texting and says "meh, he's fine".  So I then said "well, maybe you should get off your phone, or at least turn around so you can supervise him before he falls in the animal infested water"

There are plenty more I'm sure.

  • reading these makes me sad
  • not yet, I haven't witnessed anything terrible yet, thank goodness.

I do and have called on people who leave their animals in the car here though considering how hot it gets.

I was thisclose to mouthing out some annoying kids at the zoo a month ago - freaking annoying and making more noise than the animals.

  • Thankfully, I have never been in a situation where I felt I needed to say something. I do call the police whenever I see young children riding in the front seat, don't have a seatbelt on, baby not in a car seat, etc.
