would love some feedback. We are about to start feeding veggies...we've done the cereals...I bought some green beans to start. wholesomebabyfood site says to start with 1 tablespoon of food, so that's what we'll do. Did you break up the portions into 1 tablespoonfuls for freezing?
Also, I can look it up but I'll ask in case someone knows...approx how many tblspns is 1 oz of food?
I was all excited to start making baby food but now I'm getting nervous for some reason!
Re: New to making baby food...
green beans are tricky to make because they're hard to get really smooth, so just beware.
Also, my ice cube trays are about an ounce per cube, so used to just feed her 1 cube, sometimes mixed with oatmeal.
Don't be nervous its super easy and you will feel so good that you are making your childs food. I didn't start with green beans and actually haven't done them yet but i make big batches and freeze them and i just use ice cube trays and its a heaping tablespoon that fills each ice cube portion. Sweet potatoes are very easy and so is applesauce and califlower too these are some of my dd favorites so we have these often. If your child doesn't like the greenbeans then try a different colored veg because veggies that are green tend to make them gassy so that part of the reason we don't do much green still. She has tried peas and broccoli but she gets super gassy with those. Enjoy making your food if you have questions email me

We haven't done green beans yet either, but I also make bigger batches and freeze. Some of DDs favorites are zucchini, carrots and blueberries. Ice trays with lids are fine for storage, although we actually bought these baby food storage containers:

They are 2 oz size, but they are graduated in case you want to store 1 oz in each. I would say just store an oz rather than a tablespoon, and whatever your LO doesn't finish you can throw away. But your LO will probably move on to finishing the oz before you know it.
And ditto to what mega6 said -- don't be nervous, it is really easy.
