Eating sprouts...

I know that they are on the do not eat food list since they have a chance of being associated with salmonella. Anyways I went and got my favorite sandwich from Jimmy John's and asked for NO sprouts. So of course when I get home there are sprouts on my sandwich. I scraped them off. Do you think its still ok to eat?
Yes I know I am paranoid.

Re: Eating sprouts...

  • There is a 99.99% probability that you will be fine.

  • I probably would have eaten the sprouts anyway. Stick out tongue

    But I'm sure you're fine!

  • No idea sprouts are on the no-no list.  If sprouts have a higher risk of salmonella, though, doesn't the same hold true for any salad ingredient???
  • I had no idea they were on a "do not eat list".  I remember a few weeks ago being really ticked off that I couldn't find them anywhere but I guess now I'm kinda glad.
  • So is your question that you think there might be some lingering salmonella from the essence of the sprouts that are no longer on your sandwich?  I'm going to go with no on that one.

There's paranoid, and then there's PARANOID.

  • They're fine if they're cooked, right?  I always eat them at the hibachi place we go to.  One of my favorite parts of the meal, actually.
