3rd Trimester

wedding dress turned Christening gown

Is anyone doing this? I was thinking about having the train chopped off and made into a blanket. I don't know how it will turn out though

Re: wedding dress turned Christening gown

  • Mine is currently being turned into a christening gown.

  • I thought about doing this, but my mom made my wedding dress and it's too sentimental for me to cut it up.  (If I had purchased a gown, I would have done it)  In turn, she has offered to make LO's christening gown.
  • ooh! I really want to do this, but my gown is not exactly white. it's a bit off-white (maybe even ivory??). do you think that would be OK for a Catholic christening?

  • My mom is doing this as we speak.  I used to be tiny (106 lbs on wedding day) so she made a pink prototype first to practice.  I picked out a pattern with her and I hope it is done on time.  We are planning to baptize our DD ASAP because we are moving overseas.

In response to pp, I think off-white would be OKAY as long as you don't point it out :)  What are they going to say?  I doubt anyone would mention it and ruin the day.
