I know I am very late here, but I've been busy with work for a change.

1)  You "train" your pets, not your children.  I was under the apparently mistaken impression that I was "raising" dd to be a contributing member of society.

2) She can "only imagine how wild and out of control these children are, and they must be a pleasure in a restaurant" cracks me up.  From the sounds of that blog, they are all home schooled and then work for their family farm.  I don't get the impression they are out in public very often  They are probably quiet in restaurants because they are afraid of the outside world.
