  • My favorite is the testimonials.  One of the girls said she was glad she went to the program, because she was on her way to being immodest(or is it un?).

  • WTF is an "edifying massage?"
  • NMS, but whatever. To each her own.
  • Do you think they'd accept any Britney Spears' fans?
  • I would rather my teenager be involved in something more like this than what most teenagers are involved in.

    WTF is an "edifying massage?"

ed?i?fy  Pronunciation: 'e-d?-?fi Function: transitive verb Inflected Form(s): ed?i?fied; ed?i?fy?ing Etymology: Middle English, from Anglo-French edifier, from Late Latin & Latin; Late Latin aedificare to instruct or improve spiritually, from Latin, to erect a house, from aedes temple, house; akin to Old English ad funeral pyre, Latin aestas summer Date: 14th century

It must be that whole "14th Century Old English" thing that threw you off.

  • I don't see anything on that website that is necessary of mocking. Is it more conservative than I would choose for my child? Probably. But maybe it's a GOOD thing that there are still organizations/programs like that. I would rather have my kid learning to dress modestly and use makeup correctly than look like a two-dollar whore any day of the week.

  • It's just their attitude that women exist to serve men and be beautiful for them.  We're supposed to stay home and wait around til the right man comes along to marry us, then squirt out a bunch of kids, home school them, and start the cycle again.

I'm sorry, but where does their website say that? And please tell me what's inherently wrong with waiting til marriage for sex? What's wrong with homeschool and/or having several children? It might not be your cup of tea but there is no reason to bash someone's choice to raise their children with very conservative morals.

  • personally i was sold on the inspirational skits.

I have a problem with girls being taught they can't do the same things men can like work out of the home.  I'm not slamming their morals because I have many of the same.

  • "We don?t want the truth because we are sin filled, self gratifying people who want to go our own way and do our own thing!"

This is not something I believe, nor something I would teach my daughter. She is not sin filled. She has the capacity to make mistakes, like everyone else, but I believe God makes people inherently capable of GOOD, not bad. I want my daughter to learn how to think for herself, how to process her way through decisions, looking at the potential outcomes and choosing which is the right thing to do based on her own morals, which she will determine based on her own experiences, which will include what she learns from me.

It's not the idea of teaching children modesty, or how to use makeup properly, or how to behave as a lady that makes this site a problem...it's the preaching, judgmental attitude, the clear message that things should be done the way they say or you will go to hell (no, I didn't read this there, but I can hear it between the lines), and the fact that it tells girls exactly how to behave rather than how to make good decisions that bothers me.

  • I agree a bit OTT for me, but it's based on religious/spiritual beliefs.  And I guess I wouldn't want someone mocking mine, so I don't see much wrong with this site.
  • I'd rather send my daughter to something like that than to send them to a strip camp or something.

I get the not agreeing with their idea of a woman's place, but honestly, the rest of it is totally not something I'd disagree with.

  • I agree with Ozy, it's the subtext more than what they actually say.  I'm a Bible-believing Christian and plan to teach my children how to be Godly adults, but I want them to experience life and make choices.  Otherwise following God isn't really a choice.

Exactly. What happens when they are confronted with a situation that was NOT laid out for them in the bible, something they actually have to think through to decide if it's right or wrong.

It's like parenting with fear...while your kids are around you and fear your reaction, they are going to be little angels, but as soon as they are away from you and making decisions on their own without the threat of a parent they will have no idea how to decide right from wrong.
