Charlies Soap = Stink issues?

Has anyone had this be an issue? I can't for my life figure out why we have such stink issues other than the fact that the pockets are microfiber... but my hemp pocket seems to stink, too. Yesterday I did two entire wash cycles (so prewash, hot wash, extra rinse then the whole thing again) and then dried in the dryer. Still a bit stinky. I used extra soap the second time since someone suggested the zoo smell is from not enough soap.

Is it possibly just the type of detergent? Or is this really just an issue with the types of diapers we have? Maybe this is why the BG Organic are so popular....

    We use Charlies and have never had stink issues, but of course there are so many variables (type of washing machine, type of water, etc...) so it's hard to know for sure.  I have hemp and microfibre in my stash as well.  How much detergent are you using?  We have an HE frontloader and use just a little less than the scoop that came with the Charlie's.

    I've noticed this sometimes with my Charlies.  I started putting a tiny bit in the first wash, and then a full scoop in the second wash and that has seemed to help.

    We're not in love with Charlies anymore (I swear it doesn't get stains out), so we're trying CrunchyClean now.

    I've never used Charlie's personally, but I have heard that you're not supposed to use in a machine that's ever had another type of detergent in it without thoroughly cleaning the machine first because the Charlie's will try and clean the other detergent's residues off the machine instead of cleaning the diapers.  So, if you've used another detergent in your machine, it could be that the Charlie's is too busy cleaning the machine to clean the diapers.

    well my charlie's didn't come with any scoop... so i have a generic one but it is for 1/2 of what they recommend (they rec. 1/8 cup so I use half that).

    it could be that we alternate soaps. its just that i have a whole box of biokleen left practically and don't want to waste it so i've continued to use it on our clothing..
