Do you always go for follow up visits after ear infections?

Maysie is on antibiotics for her second ear infection- first was 6 weeks ago.  This time we were on vacation so I took her to an urgent care where they diagnosed it.  Does your pedi always want to see them after they finish a course of antibiotics?  I am so sick of doctors appointments- I swear we have one every week, but if she really needs to go in for a follow up of course I'll take her.  What do you do?

DD's only had one ear infection so far and they had us come back in after 2 weeks. I would always want a follow up though to make sure the infection was gone.

Hayden had 2 ear infections and not one follow up.

We're supposed to have 3 week follow ups. ?DD has had 2 ear infections. ?We did the 3 wk follow up after the first one only to have her given a clean bill of health and yet develop another ear infection within days. ?This time, we didn't do it, but she also has her 9 month appt on Tuesday, so we just decided to keep a close eye on her and bring her in if necessary. ?Ended up taking her in because of a horrid barking cough - no ear infection. And the cough went away in a few days.
