If you made your own invites--what did you do about envelopes??

I finally designed my own on 4x6 photo paper--but now what do I do about envelopes???  I was going to just use business size ones, but how can I decorate them?  I have a monkey stamp (it's a monkey-theme party)---and a birthday stamp but I don't want to crapify the darn thing....

....I'd love to see what you did.

  • I'd use the monkey stamp just as a sneak peek to what's inside. Maybe write the names out in a fun color like monkey brown or orange?

  • Use the monkey stamp on the back of the envelope and the HB stamp on the front.

All in all, it's an envelope and people throw them away so don't worry about the outside too much. It's the inside that counts!

You should post so we can see them.

  • I did 5x7 photo cards, mounted them on cardstock and used A9 envelopes (5 3/4 x 8 3/4).  I usually order 5x7's from artscow. I only have to pay shipping because they give you lots of free prints.

  • My local party/stationary store had some packs of invitations on sale for $1.00 each.  Each pack had 8 envelopes in it.  I threw away the invites and just used the envelopes.  Very inexpensive!!
