Does anyone have one of those mini laptops?

My mom saw a commercial the other day and HAS to have one for her b-day because th 50 chain emails I get from her desktop everyday aren't enough. She needs to be able to send them from anywhere in the house.

anyways.... just wondering if anyone has a reccomendation.

    My mom has had a couple of HP laptops & they've all worked really well, I know they've been advertising their mini laptops starting at $299

    Netbooks are great - dell and hp are supposed to be good.  Cost is coming down a lot lately for these types of laptops, which is nice if you're buying it as a gift....

    There's an HP mini at best Buy right now for 249$. I think thats what she will be getting! Im going to regret this. I can feel it.

    My MIL just bought a mini laptop by ACER a few months ago. I think she bought it through Amazon.com, but when I just went to look the one she bought was not there. I believe it cost about $300. My husbands cousin also bought one... both of them love their mini laptops.

    Are you talking about actual mini laptops or netbooks, because they are not the same thing.  A mini laptop is a regular laptop, just much smaller. Netbooks are basically a companion for a laptop or desktop - they do some things but don't have the processing power of a regular laptop.

    That said, DH has an Eee PC and loves it.

    I am currently on  my Acer Aspire One.  I used www.cnet.com to read about which ones are good.  I like this one because the keyboard is pretty big and the screen is 11.6 vs 8.6 or 10.1.  My DH got it for me this past weekend from Costco.

    I have a Dell Mini. There was a sale, and it was $199.  I absolutely love it, totally worth it. I have spent way more on a new suit for work!
