Washing Stuffed Animals?

My dog cannot wrap his little head around the fact that there are now stuffed animals in the house that do not belong to him.  and, it's a super fun game to play keep away with these new found "toys."  Thus, several of our son's new toys are now covered in dog slobber. :(  Do you think they'd survive a trip through the washer/dryer?  Or do I need to try some sort of hand-washing?

TIA

Re: Washing Stuffed Animals?

  • We have a a ton of stuffed animals that belong to the dogs (actually, most of them aren't stuffed anymore, just the shells).  But yes, we wash them frequently and they've done fine.  If you're worried just put it on a gentle cycle.  I recommend a second rinse though to make sure all the doggy stank is gone.

  • Yeah, I think you have to put them in the washer/dryer... Unless it's some really prized possession, what's the worst that can happen?  You have to toss it at the end.... but i've washed some of ben's (and gosh, maybe i should wash some more of them!) and they worked out fine.

  • Wash on the gentle cycle!  I throw everything into the washer...I have even thrown a coach purse into the washer once!!!
  • You can also put it in a cotton pillowcase and knot it, then throw it in the washer, if you think the stuffed animal is super delicate.
  • cool, thanks for the input!  Laundry is not my strong suit, so I'm a little nervous...but I guess I"ll have plenty of chances to practice before he gets super attached to anything!  :)
