team green ladies

What is your baby wearing home? I'm debating if I should get a neutral outfit, or a girl and a boy outfit. If you already got a going home outfit where did you get it?

Re: team green ladies

  • I bought one boy outfit and one girl outfit.  Bought them both at Wal-Mart.

  • I'm supposed to pick out what I like for both a boy and a girl.  Then once baby gets here, DH will go buy the appropriate outfit.  At least that's the plan for now.
  • I got one newborn outfit at our shower and I plan on just having the LO wear that home.  It is from Carter's and it has little yellow ducks on it, so gender neutral.

I really haven't given it any thought and figure that I'll get something cute from my shower that I can use.
  • It's insane to me that this is a dillemna for people...
  • Right now I have a handful of gender neutral onesies, sleepers, etc. We will probably dress him/her in one of those simple outfits, and continue to do that for a few days...until DH can finally tear himself away from the new LO to go get a few boy or girl outfits. Basically, our gendered baby will still be "gender neutral" for the first few days of his/her life. Haha ;)
  • Probably just a plain white onesie or something ? I don't believe in boy- and girl-specific clothing.  Don't get me wrong, there are some super cute baby sun dresses out there for little girls, but I don't like the idea of trying to shove my baby into a gender-specific pigeonhole mere hours after birth.

I bought 1 boy and 1 girl outfit and will just return the un-used one.

However, if this is someones biggest dillemna, isn't that a good thing ?

  • I'll probably just put it in a sleeper or onesie or something so I don't plan on going all out for the 5-10-min. trip home.

  • I found a cute white onsie at Target that has blue/red writing and stars on it that says 'Born in 2009' that the babe will wear home with some plain white socks.  Odds are it will be HOT so I probably won't need much more clothing than that!
