Please share you success w/ injectables/IUI stories

We just found out that we missed our window for IUI#2 this month w/ clomid. ?I ovulated w/out ever getting a + OPK. :-(?

Since my body didn't respond well to the clomid, RE wants to head to injectables next cycle and do IUI (or egg retrieval and IVF, which we said we weren't going to do b/c of $$, but who knows now. ?I'd pretty much chew off my right arm if he told me it would get me pregnant).

If you didn't respond well with clomid (I only got 1 mature follicle, which I do on my own), how did things change w/ injectables? ?I feel like I"m hanging by a thread here. ?Need some hope. ?

The cycle I got my BFP I did a combo of clomid and follistim. With just clomid I would get 1-2 follies. By adding the follistim I got 2 maybe 3 mature at trigger and am pg with a singleton.

Not sure if you ever used injectables before, but the follistim pen was super easy to use and doesnt hurt at all.

I didn't respond at all to three rounds of Clomid and also didn't respond to a round of Femara.  I did an injectible/IUI cycle with Follistim and it was my BFP!

I did 4 cycles of clomid and never responded - no mature follies, ever.  Increasing dosages, etc. had no effect on my bum ovaries.  However, I shot up with some follistim and and I had 3 mature follies at trigger.  GL!

I'm sorry you missed your window.I used gonal-f.  Like you I got one good follie on clomid, but I also got that w/o being on clomid.  The first injectible cycle I got one good follie on 75iu's per dose and got one dominant follie.  The second cycle we did 75iu's for the first 5 days and 112.5iu's for the last 6 days.  I ended up with 2 mature follies at trigger, but had two others that could have been mature by the time we did the IUI.  I don't think the Gonal-f pens were painful at all.

i did 5 Clomid cycles and didn't really respond well at all. My 1st injectable/IUI cycle was my bfp!

I stimmed with 300 of iui Gonal F for 12 days which is a lot for most people, but at trigger I had 1 20mm follie and 2 16mm follies.?

 Sorry you missed your window   That's so frustrating.

 I did 3 rounds of clomid and all it got me was several huge cysts and many break months.  My first round of follistim I had one mature follie (my RE was very conservative because my ovaries are super crazy) and I got a BFN.  The next round, I stimmed a little higher and longer and definitely had 2 mature follies and 4 borderline (50% chance of releasing a mature egg) and 4 more that were more boderline (30% chance of releasing a mature egg).  My RE almost canceled my cycle!  I requested a rescue IVF, but my clinic's lab happened to be closed for the yearly cleaning that week.  Bummer.  Anyway, after a stern talk about selective reduction, she went ahead with the IUI.  I was originally pregnant with triplets, but one ended up being a blighted ovum.  My twin boys were born in March.

You have plenty of reason to hopeful!  Injectables work in an entirely different way than clomid so your body's response will be totally different.  Good luck with your next cycle!

We did injectibles with TI and got pg on our first cycle.

I only took Clomid once because I was allergic to it. Then I was moved onto injects/IUI. With DS I got pregnant on my first cycle, and only had 1 mature follie. With this pregnancy I got pregnant on my second cycle with 3 follies. Good luck!!

Clomid only gave me 1 follie each time and my lining sucked.  Once I moved on to injectables I always got multiple follies (the cycle of my BFP I had 4-5).

I did three rounds of Clomid, and although I responded to it, I didn't respond well. All three of my Clomid IUI's were negative. I did one IUI with Follistim and had 4...possibly 5 mature follicles, and it was a BFP. Good luck.
