My friend's GYN is an idiot

My friend and her DH had been trying to get pg for over a year when she went to her gyn for her annual checkup.  She told her doc what was going on and her gyn told her what days to have sex based on the length of her cycle and to come back in 6 months if they're not KU.  It's now 6 months later and they're not pg and now they need to do all sorts of tests. 

I get so annoyed that supposed "professionals" give people crap information!   I sent my friend the FF website and told her how it worked for me so hopefully she'll do that.  Grrrrrr.

    You know what this probably is? The outcome of people being even stupider than the ones WE hear about. I'd say that women like those here on BOTB are among some of the very most educated women about TTC and fertility, like top 10 percent. The stupidity we see here are women who at least TRIED to educate themselves and failed. The women most GYNs see are just plain stupid, and I'll bet for the most part the advice she gave actually works for them.

    that's so stupid!I admit, after lurking on BOTB, reading TCOYF , and charting...I get so annoyed by people who are misinformed or uneducated on the subject. That really sucks that her doctor of all people is that way. Sounds like she may need a new one, heh.

    I mean, seriously...

    It's amazing how many people know NOTHING about their own body and what advice is ridiculous!  No one that I know IRL knows how to properly chart, and it drives me crazy.  It seems like such a simple and obvious thing to me...charting = knowing when you o = getting pg.  Unless you actually have a problem that seems to make some sense to me, but it's a hard concept for my friends to grasp.

    That dr's advice was dumb...you don't automatically o in the dead-center of your cycle!

    what's even more sad is that after telling DH about what I read here, even HE is more educated than these types of women are!
