Tips for getting baby to turn

So my LO is breech and I know I still have some time, but I was wondering if any of you had any tips for getting him to turn and I can avoid a c-section! I have heard swimming helps, anything else?!?!?!

Re: Tips for getting baby to turn

  • My baby is frank breech. So far I have went swimming and doing streches all day every day, but still no luck. My baby does not want to move. I have also researched the Websters technique at the chiro. I tried get in but they were booked solid and they are the only chiro in my city to do it. I have also heard that accupuncture can work.

I am going to get an external version tomorrow, keeping my fingers crossed it will work.

  • Cold ice pack on the top of tummy where the head is, warm down by your pelvis.

My women's studies prof mentioned this one day; it's apparently supposed to make the baby go towards the warmth.

  • If you are a yoga person, the cat-cow position is supposed to help. I would try to describe it, but since form is important maybe try to google and see if you can find photos?

Also, my doctor told me that bending at the waist (as thought touching your toes) can sometimes turn a baby.

  • A coworker when to a chiropractor who specializes in adjustments for PG women, and can do adjustments to help the baby turn.  It worked for her and was not harmful to the baby.

  • There are a TON of things that are *supposed* to work.... nothing has for me yet.

I didn't do the Webster technique at the Chiro (my OB suggested against it, too many issues with slipped disks and problems from the adjustments) Not to mention, it will end up costing you about $95 for the first visit, then $70 for each additional visit, and they said you may need around 5.... yikes!

Moxtibustion (sp) accupuncture is something that my OB DID say to do, because it has a proven and effective rate, but again, $95 first visit, $70 additional visits.

I have been laying with my hips up and head down with ice on my belly where the baby's head is, and there has been no change since 32 weeks.

I am going to try the version next week, but we will see.

Google "turning a breech baby" and there are some ideas there. GL!
