1.  What are you planning to give DH for Father's Day?  I'm going to give him a new Bible.  Tillman I think will give him a painted pot or something.  James is really into plant stuff right now since he's home.

(We just had one today that went reeeally not good... oh, the tantrums...)  Tillman still struggles, but since he's been a few times with no shots or weird probing and not having been sick, the last time was much better:  height, weight, questions (Tillman likes to talk), a couple quick checks, a book to keep, and on our way.

1.  What are you planning to give DH for Father's Day?no idea! thought about a bbq but I know he wants to run gas from the house to it and that is more than I want to mess with!

2.What is something you wish your house had that would make life with kids easier? (Or something it does have?) We purposely bought a rambler that had a fenced yard and that would work well with kids.  No stairs or baby gates to deal with.

 3.What kind of Cabinate locks do you have at your home to child proof the kitchen?Just the cheap inside latch ones that are a pain in the butt to install but they won't make any marks on the outside so when we don't need them anymore they can just go away.  they are by safety 1st

4.  Name a place you want to visit or activity you want to do with DC this summer?I would love to take cruz to the ocean but I don't know if he would make a 2 hour drive...he flipped out driving to auburn on sat with a movie going!

Most of our friends have kids so it's easy with them. We usually bring a toy she doesn't get to play with much and her highchair and are good to go.

 15- 18 mos are the hardest - DS is very stranger anxious these days. I prepare by talking about what we're going to do and also bringing lots of things to do. Books, toys etc. for the wait.

We go around 4 and leave no later than 7 if DS has had a late nap. We bring food and most friends have kids so we don't bring toys but if they didn't then we'd bring plenty.

1.  What are you planning to give DH for Father's Day? I got a card for him, and one from DD as well. The one I got for her to give him is recordable. I'm hoping to record her saying "da-da" and then it plays a song. I will also trace her hand like I did last year. At daycare, the kids made stepping stones with their footprint so she will give that to him also. As for me, I will either take him out for dinner or plan an event he would enjoy.

2.What is something you wish your house had that would make life with kids easier? (Or something it does have?) A wider stairway. When we bought our house, we never thought extra space in a stairway would be something we would want... seemed like such a waste at the time. Oh, if I knew then what I know know

 3.What kind of Cabinate locks do you have at your home to child proof the kitchen? I don't have any. I've never been fond of the idea. She only plays supervised in the kitchen and anything dangerous is kept out of her reach.

4.  Name a place you want to visit or activity you want to do with DC this summer? Ferry ride. I think she will be old enough to enjoy it this year.

(We just had one today that went reeeally not good... oh, the tantrums...)  I think she is still young enough that she doesn't know any better. She really likes the cherry sticks they give her. I usually nurse her after shots and that helps a lot.

8. How easy is it for you to take dc to friends houses to hang out for an evening?  What tricks do you bring? We've done it a couple of times, but I really don't enjoy it. We bring her pack 'n' play and put her to bed at her normal time. I try to keep her bedtime routine as similar as possible. No bath, but we do a book and nurse/cuddle. She doesn't seem to mind it at all, but it is just too much work! I prefer people coming to us

1.  What are you planning to give DH for Father's Day?  I got him a personalized stadium cushion for his Seahawks games, chocolate, a photo card of him and Mikayla.  I think I need to get him a few other things. 

2.What is something you wish your house had that would make life with kids easier? (Or something it does have?)  MORE ROOM!!!    And a baby gate, which I'm ordering today.

 3.What kind of Cabinate locks do you have at your home to child proof the kitchen?  N/A yet.

4.  Name a place you want to visit or activity you want to do with DC this summer?  I'd like to check out a few of the children's museums.

5. How does your DC do at Dr. appts.? What do you do to help him/her through it? (We just had one today that went reeeally not good... oh, the tantrums...)  Pretty good.  She doesn't like shots of course, but usually just cries for a bit then passes out asleep.

1.  What are you planning to give DH for Father's Day?  I suck because I have no idea.  DH did a realllllly nice gift for Mother's Day, so I feel the pressure!  He gave me a Tiffany charm (locket that says Mom) and did one of those handprint things with the baby and painted it.  Soooo cute.

2.What is something you wish your house had that would make life with kids easier? (Or something it does have?)  I wish we did not have a split entry and I wish that it was an open floor plan between our kitchen and living room.

 3.What kind of Cabinate locks do you have at your home to child proof the kitchen?  I only have two things locked right now (the fireplace and a media cabinet.)  They have two handles, so it's the kind that locks them together.  I haven't done anything in the kitchen yet.

4.  Name a place you want to visit or activity you want to do with DC this summer?  I'd love to go swimming in an outdoor pool with DS.  I also want to check out the local spray parks once he starts walking.  He's so close!

 Bring lots of toys to distract him.  I usually try to have DH or my mom with us if possible because it's much easier with two people!

We skipped the cereal and went straight to the pureed.  I use Earth's Best jarred foods.  They are organic and seem very pure.

1.  What are you planning to give DH for Father's Day?  After yesterdays post I ordered the flip video camera.

2.What is something you wish your house had that would make life with kids easier? (Or something it does have?) Like a built in housekeeper? A seperate playroom, right now we use our "formal living room" but it needs some organizational help.

 3.What kind of Cabinate locks do you have at your home to child proof the kitchen? Just the hook kind, that you push down to open.

4.  Name a place you want to visit or activity you want to do with DC this summer?  Jetty Island, Aquasox game.

5. How does your DC do at Dr. appts.? What do you do to help him/her through it? (We just had one today that went reeeally not good... oh, the tantrums...)         We had one really bad one when he was sick last winter, cried for the 2 hrs we were there.  Now he will sit, read, play with a toy while we wait.

2.What is something you wish your house had that would make life with kids easier? (Or something it does have?) I screened in porch for the cats so they could get away from kiddo once in a while. I think we'd all be a lot less stressed

1.  What are you planning to give DH for Father's Day? I have a card ang so far I have some PJ's for DS that say Daddy Rocks. DH sent me some ideas of what he needs and wants so I need to hit up Best buy and get them. DH is very task oriented so he wants a phone cover and a memory stick for his phone.

2.What is something you wish your house had that would make life with kids easier? (Or something it does have?) Since we just built the house we pretty much have most of everything that we want and we really like how it functions. It is huge and open and pretty much baby proof.

 3.What kind of Cabinate locks do you have at your home to child proof the kitchen? I just got these last week Safety first inside mount with sticy stuff and they have a magnate key thing to unlock them. They are great. DS can not open them at all.

4.  Name a place you want to visit or activity you want to do with DC this summer? So many thing but he maybe too young. I want to go to the zoo, splash park, Everett children's museum.

I just bring small toys in the diaper bag and he does pretty well. The DR office is usually on time and we don't have to wait long.

We did sweet potatos that I baked then pureed. Then moved on to Peas.

We don't go to often. We don't get invited to friends houses very much. But we do go I bring small toys and food that is easy to pack. And usually I bring his PJ and we change him into those before we leave so if he falls asleep on the way home we can just put him right into bed. We did this last night when we were visiting my parents.

Not much. Just work and daycare closed on 18 June so I have the day off to play.

1.  What are you planning to give DH for Father's Day? I got him the Seattle Sport's List book, a book to read to DS, and a deck box (that is what he wanted)...a little boring.  I think we might cook a big breakfast on Sunday too!

2.What is something you wish your house had that would make life with kids easier? (Or something it does have?) A playroom would be great because my husband is so weird about toys being out and I will second a housekeeper

 3.What kind of Cabinate locks do you have at your home to child proof the kitchen? We have not childproofed anything except the outlets (and we didn't even need to do that).  I have a child who gets in to nothing he isn't supposed to!!!  It is weird

DS does great at Dr's appointments, but we do bring toys and snacks to play with while he is waiting.  Our Dr also lets him sit on my lap while she checks him out and talks to him and I think that puts him at ease.

1.  What are you planning to give DH for Father's Day? I went to a paint-your-own pottery place and made a frame with DS' footprints and wrote "Max Loves Daddy" and put in a picture of them.

Hmmm...a built in baby monitor with receivers in every room that would individually turn on and off? Room darkening shades in Max's room would be nice. Curious to read the other responses to this one.

When he gets bigger I'll be fine with bribing for something that involves pain, like shots...e.g. talk up how we'll go for ice cream afterwards or something like that.

I tried to take him to book club last week and he was so tired but would not fall asleep. Sometimes putting him in his car seat with a blanket over it (I do allow air flow on the sides!) helps him fall asleep.

1.  What are you planning to give DH for Father's Day? A massage, and a fun day at the Strawberry Festival...oh, and going to see UP.

2.What is something you wish your house had that would make life with kids easier? (Or something it does have?) I don't like it for regular living, but with a baby, our open floor plan (living room, dining and kitchen all in one long rectangle) is great. I put her on her play mat in the living room and can keep an eye on her.

She's only four months, so there's not a burning desire to take her to experience things since she's still working on her motor skills. I am getting ready to take her to a wedding in July, and I'm kind of curious to see how she does.

She throws major screaming tantrums when she's tired or cranky or just wants to be carried around for hours on end. Oh, and we're stopping the comfort nursing, so that could do it too.

5. How does your DC do at Dr. appts.? What do you do to help him/her through it? (We just had one today that went reeeally not good... oh, the tantrums...)
 I usually have to get a babysitter for the opposite child. Its crazy with the both of them running around that small room! Jacob freaked out when the Dr was examining him....ugh, it sucked!

6.After introducing dc to cereal, what was the next solid food you gave and how long did you wait to give it to him/her?
Fruits..pears, banana, peaches although Norah loves sweet potatoes

8. How easy is it for you to take dc to friends houses to hang out for an evening?  What tricks do you bring?
thankfully when we go to our friends house, they have 2 extra rooms and extra beds! It works out great b/c they will put their kids down and we will do the same. Norah gets a PNP and Jacob gets a bed. Kids sleep great and we can stay as late as we want!

Im watching a little 7 month old for my friend this week...should be interesting!

2.What is something you wish your house had that would make life with kids easier? (Or something it does have?) Another room for them to go to (specifically Luke) with friends so they can be as lud as they would like.

Avocado, Sweet Potatoes. We waited about a month, but that was mostly due to my laziness to actually get the ball rolling with food.

Hm. My friends all have babies this age, so pretty easy. DS brings his ipod/portable gaming system.

1.  What are you planning to give DH for Father's Day?

A Sounders jersey but he already knows what it is because he guessed.  Ruined the surprise but I may get us M's game for Sunday because dh has always wanted to bring dd to a game.

A big bonus room to move her toys into.  Right now she's young but her things have eatten up our family room.

I want to take dd swimming.  She loves bath time so I can't imagine how she'll love a pool.

She had a major fit the last time because she was scared of her pediatrician or had seperation anxiety.  I may have to nurse her next time to calm her down because that almost always works.

8. How easy is it for you to take dc to friends houses to hang out for an evening?  What tricks do you bring?

It's usually ok as long as I can feed her and somewhat hold her for a good majority of the time.  Some of my friends have kids the same age so she can play with their toys.  We probably need to leave by 9:30 or else she starts to get really cranky.

Dh and I have a wedding to attend on Saturday.  We're going to be child free for a few hours!  Yay!!  I need a mommy break.

1. What are you planning to give DH for Father's Day? I am going to do the D-A-D picture frame pinktulips posted about. I might check out the post about the Flip cameras...other than that I am stumped.

 2.What is something you wish your house had that would make life with kids easier? (Or something it does have?) More than one bathroom. Something it does have is a playroom off the living room, which I love!

3.What kind of Cabinate locks do you have at your home to child proof the kitchen? None. Our house is old and the cabnients stick. I can barely open them sometimes. Plus everything in the low cabninets is baby proof.

4. Name a place you want to visit or activity you want to do with DC this summer? We're doing some fun trips, to the ocean and camping.

 5. How does your DC do at Dr. appts.? What do you do to help him/her through it? (We just had one today that went reeeally not good... oh, the tantrums...) We try to schedule for a 'happy' time of day. We take pleny of books, toys and snacks.

 6.After introducing dc to cereal, what was the next solid food you gave and how long did you wait to give it to him/her? We actually did 3-4 fruits and veggies before trying cereal. I can't remember the exact order, but it was carrots, peas, bananas and avocado.
