So funny that I just googled this yesterday b/c I couldnt figure out what Y was and I have never read the book. I dont think there is a Y, I think it just made an easier acronym. At least that was my conclusion.
Now, my problem is finding an activity that my boys can do while propped up after eating b.c they cant lay down or do tummy time without getting some reflux or spitting up a bit.

We have the same issue. You can read to them, sing with them (move their hands and feet in motions that go with the song ), play "peekaboo" with them, put a toybar on their bouncy seat to let them look at the toys, etc. Babycenter has lots of good games for babies of different ages.
early on it's not such a big deal to have an "activity" - just "awake" time... the premise being that you don't want them to rely on nursing/feeding to get to sleep..... even though early on they will often still fall asleep after eating since they are rarely awake in those first few weeks
I follow Baby Wise- which is the same type of rotation.... Sleep/Eat/Play... though, play = just being awake early on. The Y really isn't anything special or different than sleep/eat/play....I think they just added it in to make it a word lol
btw- this method works great IMO... my DS was STTN by 8w with it! I pray the twins take after their big bro!
