Those of you that had the nuchal translucency screening done, was it a pretty detailed sonogram? I'm trying to keep myself positive for my appt. tomorrow, and I just wanted to know if we'll get a good look at our babies while they are doing the scan? Everytime I have had an ultrasound at my regular appts. the doctor has done it pretty quickly and it has been a crappy quality machine used. Everything is really blurry. So, I'm wondering if this scan will show the babies a little more clearly? Lastly, has anyone been lucky enough to get a print out picture of the sono while doing this? I know this is probably a dumb question, but any chance I can get to stare at the babies while at home or work is wonderful! I know that I should just be patient and wait for my appt. tomorrow, but my mind will not let me stop thinking of this Thanks again for always being so kind and giving me your input.
Re: I need to be patient!
I am scheduled to see a Peri once I am 20 weeks and I am also looking forward to the quality of pics she will have. I'm embarrassed but I have to ask, what is mfm??? Do you think 20 weeks seems too late to be going to my peri for the first time?
Happy, I would try to see the Peri a little earlier. By 20 weeks it was too late for me and my boys had Stage IV TTTS. If we'd been seen sooner the TTTS would have been caught sooner. Of course, this is assuming you have identicals.
MFM = maternal fetal medicine specialist (peri)
An MFM is the same as a peri.?
My peri actually was the one who did the NT scan. ?My OB's office has decent ultrasound machines, but the NT is much more detailed, and the peri has a Level II ultrasound machine that she uses for the NT. ?You should get really detailed pictures, and it'll last at least 15 minutes or so (although I know a lot of people's are longer). ?It's pretty fun. ? They look like babies and will probably be moving around. ?
