My biggest tip is to have some generous girlfriends come over and help. ?There were four of us and I *really* don't think I could've done it by myself. ?(DH is so not into painting). ?Be warned - it took 2 of us 2 hours to tape. ?And we only did one wall with stripes.
What I did was this:
1. paint wall white
2. measure and tape stripes
3. paint appropriate colors on either side of tape (second coat a couple hours later)
4. remove tape before paint dries (this helps keep the paint from peeling)
5. touch up white stripes where colors had bled under tape
BUT - there's a better way to do stripes so that you get perfect lines and don't have to touch up later. (I couldn't do it because I would've had to tape much earlier. ?I only had the girls here for one afternoon and I knew I'd need their help taping).?
1. Paint wall base color if desired?
2. Measure and tape stripes.?
3. Paint base color along edges of tape - make sure you paint onto the tape a little. ?(For me this would've been painting white in the spots for the green and purple.) ?This "seals" the tape with the base color so that the top color won't bleed underneath.
4. Once that is totally dry, paint your top color (and a second coat if needed)

And voila! ?:) ?Hope that helps!?
