pedialyte for constipation?

my pedi recommended this... but i thought pedialyte was for diarrhea or dehydration?

i asked about juice, and he said that they don't recommend anything other than formula before 6 months, so a little bit of pedialyte is better.

does anyone have any experience w/pedialyte and constipation?
