OB recs? (Downtown Seattle/UW areas)

So I just looked over my GP's specialites and it's nowhere near OB/GYN.  I absolutely love my doc, but just in case she tells me to go elsewhere, do any of you have recs for OBs in Downtown Seattle or at/around UW?

My doc is with VM and the nearest OB group for that hospital is in Federal Way, which is not convenient for me.

DH works at UWMC so he'd be able to go to appointments with me if we find a doc in the UW area.

I prefer a woman OB, but I'm not that picky if the personality fit is right.

Re: OB recs? (Downtown Seattle/UW areas)

  • I recently saw Dr. Kelley Hanrahan with Minor & James Medical, she delivers at Swedish I believe.  She was great, really friendly, personable, thorough, answered all my questions before I even asked.

  • I go to the Polyclinic and see Dr. McDermott.  https://www.polyclinic.com/?q=obstetrics_gynecology  I really like her a lot, but the office sure leaves something to be desired.  I totally hate the PA that I've had to see when she's out for a delivery or something.  I've heard great things about the Seattle OB/GYN group.  https://www.seaobgyn.com/

  • I think IHeartHimMore has a UW ob, Dr. Rebecca Dunsmoor Su or something like that?  (I am wierd and remember strange facts)  But I'm sure she'll come in and tell you herself with the correct name :-)
  • Awesome! Thanks, ladies!

  • I see Dr. Hanrahan and I love her! Just a fatastic doctor. Funny too.
  • We LOVE our OB - Dr. Rebecca Dunsmoor-Su with UW. ?Our appts are at the Roosevelt clinic and we will deliver at the main Med Ctr building on campus.

I'm also pretty in love with the facilities at UW, all the nurses and staff I've met thus far and the philosophy about childbirth that they all share. ?They want the process to go however you want it to go and will support you in any decisions you make.?

I've heard great things about Dr. Dunsmoor-Su from a few other people, too.  I'll definately give her a call when the time comes.

    Thanks again, everyone!

  • My OB is in the Seattle/Greenwood area, not sure how that works for you. And delivers at NW Hospital. Dr. Dana Blackham. He has been in practice for a while, lets just say he delivered me in 1984. Probably in his 50's but completely awesome!!! You have any questions he calls you personally which I know most OB's do. He is just really kind and will answer any questions you have. When he delivered my sister, I was in the room, and he made the experience so amazing. He played guitar to keep things relaxed, said a prayer, just made you feel like you were with a friend that was a Dr more then a Dr who just thinks of you as another patient. Here's the number 206-362-9508

  • Dr. Hanrahan or Dr. Cole at the Seattle Womens Clinic. ?Both amazing!
