Hoping to keep my job

I could use prayers and good thoughts today. I'm scheduled to return to work part-time July 1. I work for Snohomish Health District, and our Board is voting today on layoffs. There will be layoffs, we just don't know which programs yet. My position is safe because it's state dollars, but I'm not safe...I can be bumped out if someone in my union with more seniority is laid off. As great as it would be to be home with Max, we can't afford it. And if I was able to find another job, it probably wouldn't be part-time and so close to home. Stressful!

Won't FMLA cover you until you get back?  Can they let you go when you're on maternity leave?

My fingers are crossed for you and I hope you get to keep your job!!  This economy blows.

Thanks for the support! FMLA does cover me, if I do get laid off I would probably still be going back July 1 because I think our contract is 30 days notice. The bumping will probably take a while to shake down, it did last time we went through this...then my position was eliminated but I was able to move into the one I have now. So I may not know right away, which sucks. I just want to keep the job I have!
