So I found a great midwife in the area who does home water birth and I'm thinking of doing HBAC. ?My only concern is that I live at the end of a row of four townhouses...do you think I might get too loud? ?I figured if anyone would know how loud births can get, you would...lol.
?Other than the noise thing, I feel pretty confident with doing it at home assuming I get ktfu again.?
Re: Hey Tex, you on?
Butting in....I had a natural birth in a hospital and it was not loud at all. It all depends on you. I have heard ladies be very loud....and my bff who is a labor and deliver nurse calls them babies and rolls her eyes. They don't expect you to be quiet but seriously there is no reason to be screaming (that is actually not good because then your energy goes to that and not pushing). I also only had to push 3 times! And my dd was nearly 9 pounds and she was my 1st. You can definitely do it!
hey girl, it looks like i missed you. i was on a marathon call with my mom. we just become better and better friends as i get older.
anywho, that is great that you found a midwife! yay for midwifery! i have been to many loud births. in fact almost all of them got loud at one point or another. sometimes the family cheering when the baby comes out can be louder than the mom was when she was laboring and pushing. lol.
if you are truly concerned about your neighbors you or DH could warn them when the time gets closer. it would be awkward if they didn't know what was going on and then they hear screaming. you would hate for them to call the cops at a time like that.
i'm not sure how your DC was born but water often has a calming effect on labor and sometimes it can really relax you. that being said if you feel that you need to scream i would scream. let it out! i do tend to encourage women to use lower more gutteral sounds vs high pitched out of control screaming. grunting and moaning tends to be more effective. but whatever gets the baby out.
thanks girls. ?I had a cs with my first. ?I was induced, labored for 30 hours confined primarily to the stupid fetal monitor, refused all meds, only to wind up in a cs. ?They were worried about my blood pressure, but my husband who trained emt said only one reading ever came back high, and he watched it very closely. ?So I want to avoid the hospital this time! ?The midwife has two tubs available for use during births and I really want a water birth, so we shall see.
?
Now I just have to get ktfu!?
