But it's a mix of that one and rocking to sleep. I feed Abby her last bottle, hold her in my arms and she has her paci and goes to sleep. No actual 'rocking', but I dont lay her down awake either. Then I lay her in the bed and I hang out with my laptop til I'm ready to go to sleep too.
I chose "other" becuase i wouldnt say she is drowsy...we put her to bed anytime from 6:30pm-7pm and she is awake. I put a paci in her mouth and give her "her lovie" and she goes right to sleep!!
Saying night night to a screaming child who then passes out after babbling for a few minutes was not a choice, so I hit other! Although tonight she fell asleep nursing and I couldn't bear the thought of letting her go (first bday is coming up so I am getting emotional!).
She's usually wide awake and smiling at me as she watches me turn on her sound machine and turn off her light. Then she babbles herself to sleep.
Jealous!!! I have to sit by the crib until she falls asleep, and she is an expert sleep fighter. I do have to say, it is much better than the holding her while she slept I used to have to do.

Yeah, I'm jealous or those with babies who talk themselves to sleep. Mine goes down pretty quickly, but needs to be nursed and rocked. And he still can't self soothe when he wakes up later in the evening/night.
I nurse him and then just put him right down. ?He babbles a little bit, plays with his mobile (yes, we still have that thing on the crib) and then passes out.
To the OP - sleep training is your friend!! ?I used to have to nurse DS to sleep every time he woke up ?(every 2 hrs at night!) and I was a wreck until we did the training and he learned to put himself to sleep. ?He stopped waking at night, or at least stopped crying for me to help him back to sleep. ?Things are MUCH easier now!?

I chose drowsy and fall asleep on own. Now that DS is refusing his 3rd nao, by bedtime, he is really sleepy. I usually give him his paci and lovey and bounce him a few times (he will not let me sit and rock him, I have to stand and bounce him) and then I lay him down. He will usually fall asleep pretty quickly.
We do the same for naps, but most of the time he doesn't go down as easily!
He doesn't STTN (mainly b/c of the stupid paci)! He usually wakes once or twice per night.

Normally put him down when he is giving his tired signals, but the majority of th time he pulls himself up and bounces a bit, babbles a bit and then after about 10-20 minutes falls asleep.
We co-sleep, but I either nurse to sleep or rock to sleep, or sometimes she falls asleep on my back in the beco or wrap. We don't have a really consistent routine with it--just whatever works. Tonight she fell asleep draped over DH's arm, lol. We then put her to bed until we join her.
She normally falls asleep while having her last bottle and then I put her into her crib.
Just recently, she sometimes wakes up when I put her down and will go back to sleep on her own. Other times she stays asleep. Either way, its pretty much bottle then crib.
DD is usually tired not really drowsy when I put her in the crib. I read Goodnight Moon then lay her down. She babbles or sometimes I have to go in and pick her up. She'll put her head on my shoulder for a minute then I put her back in the crib and she falls asleep.
I chose "other" because she's usually awake when she goes down. I just put her down at the first signs of tiredness, like yawning, whining or sucking her thumb.

Which one did you use?
Sorry! ?Just got back on after putting DS down for the night. ?We did Baby Whisperer around 4ish months and it really saved my sanity! ?Of course I loved holding him when he was little and watching him sleep, but it's a beautiful thing to just kiss him on the head, say "night night" and walk out of his room now! ?
I'm not sure how well it works with older babies, but it's worth a shot, I really had great results with it...GL!?

Re: Clicky Poll: How do you put DC down?
I chose we cosleep.

I chose other.
I lay him down, usually fully awake, after his bottle and he goes to sleep within 15 minutes. He talks and yells and then falls asleep.

After Ferber this is what we do for all naps and at bedtime, she is great about falling asleep on her own now.
