I'm not planning on having a second baby shower - I just had two awesome showers thrown for me last year (plus a bridal shower the year before that!), and I would hate to ask my friends and family to give me even more. I get the point about celebrating each baby etc etc, but I personally am just not interested.
Yesterday my SIL was talking about her older sister's wedding and how excited everyone is, and she mentioned how they should TOTALLY throw me a baby shower while we're home for the festivities!! I ignored the fact that I would rather die than take the spotlight off of my SIL who is getting married, and just said that it was so sweet of her to think of it, but I didn't want a shower this time around.
Her response:
"Don't you want free gifts??"
Priceless. I love teenagers

Do you mean because I had two last year? They were both pretty small (one for each side of the family), and people mostly just gave us clothes
LOL.
I gotta say, I'd love to have some sort of "no gifts" shower for baby 2. I just love parties and having people over...but I wouldn't lobby for anything like that, you know.
I've thought the same thing - but it's something I'd want to do with friends. If we all still lived in the same place I think it'd be so fun to just go out to dinner one night and have cake. Any excuse for cake, really
My bff is expecting #2 in October and it's a boy. A few of her friends said they wanted to throw her a shower as well. She is having a boy and her first is also a boy...they will be exactly 2 years apart...soooo IMO NO NEED for a shower. I felt bad though because I didn't throw her first one and told her flat out 2nd baby showers are tacky if they kids are really close in age and the same gender.
She wants to have a "Spa" day for her shower, I'd rather make it about her this time around.
