1.When did you start solids for your LO?Tried at 4,5 and 6 mo but he really wasn't interested until 7 or 8 months

If you would have asked me last year when Cruz was 11 months I would have said yes, way too much and we couldn't even keep him up late enough to watch fireworks. We are hoping this year at almost 2 he will be up and enjoy them ; ) But I still wouldn't drive 2 hours away just for the day!

When he does sleep in his bed (I know, we're bad, he sleeps with us a lot) he has a pillow, 2 blankets and like 4 stuffed animals.

10. Does your dc have allergies? What do you give them? Lots of food allergies, I don't *think* he has seasonal allergies but he has been rubbing his eyes a lot so it makes me wonder.

5.If you have more than 1 child, how did your labor and deliveries compare? (Vaginal births) My labor with #2 was much faster than with #1 (even though she was fast too). Like half the time. I can still remember the pain of delivery with #1 but not with #2... I think because he came out so fast! I healed much faster with #2 but the PP bleeding was much more intense.

Once I started showing, I'd have her kiss the baby (my belly) and tell her brother that she loves him. She got obsessed with it, to the point where she wanted to kiss Dh's baby too. haha We also got her a book a few months before my EDD called "I'm a big sister now" and we still read it. She points to mommy and daddy and brother and Payton.

9.What do you do on really hot, sunny days to keep your kids happy but out of the sun? I force DD to wear a hat and liberally apply sunscreen every hour or so. We also got her a water table and put it in a shady area on the deck.

But I would only go to both if they were both very important. we did similar to this last year the praties were about an hour and a half apart. one was my BFF birthday camp out at her cabin. We had already been there one night. we left to go to nephews birthday party and then drove back to the camp out. Eli did fine.

We just talked about babies, showed him my belly and let Eli help us get stuff put together for his little brother. Eli had no proelm withthte transfer. his only problem is he is anxious for Kai to play with him!

TTC #2 for a million years: SA normal, CD 23 bloodwork shows nothing amiss, ovulation detected. Next step: ? maybe CD3 bloodwork to check eggs? All out of pocket, so limited IF tests/treatments.

At about 5 mos. we gave him a little blankie that is about 15x18. He loved playing with it while he went to sleep. He also has had a stuffed monkey in his bed since probably about 6 mos.

Depends on your child. Some can get a way with a screwed up nap schedule and they just sleep wherever, mine won't except the car. Pick what is best for your DS, not who all wants to see your child that day or what you want to do.

n/a I wouldn't say though that you could count on them being the same - at least not with my friends who have 2. They do say the second is faster and easier.

Around 18 months, he started wanting to sleep with one while I was recovering from surgery and couldn't put him to bed. He would sleep with one and I would sleep with one.

didnt mind the c/s although I wasnt expecting it

For the babies Im making them cloth bibs out of cupcake fabric (the boys will have cowboy material) I stocked up on a ton of valentines day/Easter candy that matched the colors we are doing..I also go some (take out) looking boxes to add favors in..
I will be doing cupcake pops as well as cupcake bites and about 5 different flavors of cupcakes...the main flavor will be red velvet though...

Honestly, we never really did anything. Once my belly started to show, we'd explain to him there was a baby in there, he obviously didnt really get it nor did he care...we took him on a special vacation before she was born as our last "hoorah!"

2.Would you take your toddler to a backyard pool party with a bunch of inflatible toddler pools? We just did for a friends ds' first bday. It wasn't very relaxing since I was following dd everywhere, but we had fun!

At 10 months I was able to get her to sleep in her crib with a bunny blanket/pillow thing. I would rub her back and then just stand there till she was out. She would keep opening her eyes to see if I was still there. Just last week she discovered a small stuffed dog that used to be ds' that she takes with her everywhere. All of a sudden I can lay her down awake, walk out of the room and she will fall asleep and stay asleep for 10-13 hours. I have no idea if the stuffed dog helps or if it is a fluke - either way, I am hoping it keeps up!

5.If you have more than 1 child, how did your labor and deliveries compare? (Vaginal births) With dd I had more back labor, it was faster and I felt better equiped on the whole how to push techniques. They had to vaccuum ds, but not dd. I tore on both. They had to break my water on both.
6.Still on my 1st birthday kick =] What did you do for "favors" for the kids that were coming? Depending on the ages, but I think I am going to do divided dinner plates for the babies and giant bubble wands for the couple of older kiddo's.

He just didn't quite understand that dd wasn't going to get into his stuff for a few years - his only experience with siblings were friends and they are all close in age.

9.What do you do on really hot, sunny days to keep your kids happy but out of the sun? Popsicles, water balloons, water in pots and pans, do you have an inflatable raft? Filling that with water is a fun alternative to a pool. Set up the camping tent so they can have a fort. Color/paint appliance boxes to make forts/stores etc. Freeze water melon balls, pineapple and banana on skewers for fruit "pops". The tried and true sprinkler. "Paint" on the house or sidewalk with a large regular paint brush and water. The sun dries it, and then you can paint all over again. Decorate your bikes with crepe paper to have a parade. Lay out giant sheets of paper on the grass and body paint with homemade pudding paint. Make a teepee out of large sticks, tie the top with twine and cover with a sheet...

I put a stuffy in the crib when he was about 8 months old and it was just in the corner he never has paid much attention to it. This weekend I have seen him grab it. Usually just to throw it onto the floor but at least he sees it.

7.If you have more than two, when did you start "preparing" your older child? What types of things did you do? About 5 months along, but Alex is older so his life was hardly disrupted

I guess this is a good one for me to write - because I'm the opposite of everyone...it gets hot and I FORCE the whole family out of the house. 88 degrees is nothing, I just got back from 101. And in Sac it's over 100 from July 4th to Labor Day. So it's just the norm.
So Alex tans really easy - like me. I hardly put sunblock on him at all. But I also know that you do indoors stuff from noon to 4 pm. Like library or bookstore story time, do your errands to the store etc. Willow burns easy - so I will have to be more diligent. Do bike riding, park etc in the early morning, before naps.
ALWAYS be by some water or buy water bottles, keep them hydrated. Kids can tolerate heat better then adults, but we must be responsible for the water!

4.July 4 plans we got invited to 2 different events and they are 2 hours away. DH wants to go to both I say it's too much for DS all in 1 day and naps ect. WWYD? I think it depends on how old your son is. Our four-month-old can't handle two events and that much driving in one day. It makes her cranky and then no fun for us (me especially since I nurse her). I'd say pick one and make your apologies to the other.
8.If you swaddled DC, when did you stop and how did you go about it? We stopped at about 3 and a half months...right when the heat wave started because she wasn't waking up happy anymore. So we switched to a footed fleece body suit (our kiddo runs really cold like me and my mom) and a onesie for the warm days and just the bodysuit on the really hot days. She wiggled around a lot in her co-sleeper, but after two nights she was happy to be free...her arms would stretch out when she slept and she was all smiles in the morning once more. We had the swaddleme on stand by just in case, but a 3:00am swaddle is not a good one.

DD is waking up every two hours when she isn't swaddled and it is difficult to get her back to sleep. She stays up playing with her feet and rolling over onto her belly.

1.When did you start solids for your LO? I waited until 7 months. Her pedi told me that she didn't need the nutrients from it til she was 9 months since she was exclusively bf'd, but we decided to try at 7.

I don't like to travel on holidays, I'm pretty paranoid about drunk drivers, so I don't think I'd do both. It's hard to say. Walmart had little things of sidewalk chalk for a dollar and it came with like 8 pieces of chalk in it so I bought a bunch of those to give as favors. My mom also bought some little balls for the kids to throw around and play with. I made cupcakes and the put icing in baggies and got food coloring and sprinkles and let each kid decorate their own cupcake though. That was a pretty big hit!

8.If you swaddled DC, when did you stop and how did you go about it? DD HATED being swaddled. She can't stand to have her hands covered. So once she started getting out of it on her own, we just stopped.

The mall is nice because it's got a play structure, but people don't always watch their kids. Emma can walk just fine and she loves the other kids, but she has gotten knocked over a couple times by some kids that are running all over or trying to swing on something. When that happens, we leave for a bit.
