Costco Kirkland brand formula?

I'm just starting to transition my 8.5 month old to formula after EBF and I bought the Kirkland brand at Costco since money's a little tight and I'm hoping he'll be fine with generic.  Does anyone else use it?

Re: Costco Kirkland brand formula?

  • I haven't used Costco's Generic, but the pedi told me it was made by Enfamil.  We use Sam's Generic and it is great.  It cost a 1/3 less than Costco's.  Generics are made to the same standards as the name brand ones, you are just paying for advertisement.

Our pedi said the same thing. We used it the last month before we went to whole milk after 12 mos. No issues. It even looks the same (consistency, color, etc.).

  • We tried it with DD but she had to be on soy. I just switched DS to Target brand and he hasn't had any problems, DH wants to buy the Kirkland one when we do our Costco run next week.

We're almost done with the first can.  No problems!

  • we've used it since she was 8 weeks old.  no problems.
  • No problems here either.  And last I checked, it was the cheapest of all the generics I found.

It's a little more "foamy" than some but it doesn't seem to bother DS.  Like the others said-- they all have to have the same nutritional value so I'm not worried about switching brands as long as your LO will tolerate it.

  • We started DD on Costco formula at around 8+ months.  No problems.  We love it, its a great price!!
  • Went to Costco generic from Enfamil AR RTF.  It was an adjustment but he is taking it now.  Actually he spits up less.
  • We've been using it since she was 4 weeks old and have had no problems.  It is nice because you get two big containers for $19.97
